This flight includes the the area in which The Hobbit was filmed and the Mangaotaki Gorge with it's magnificent limestone cliffs and surrounding beautiful rolling farmland and native forest, all just waiting to be photographed. It also carries on up the Mangaotaki River to view the fabulous Waitanguru Falls.

This flight includes flying over the area in which The Hobbit was filmed, together with the Mangaotaki Gorge and its stunning limestone cliffs. On a clear day, you will be able to see the ocean in the distance. We then fly up the Marokopa River to the spectacular Marokopa Falls.

The Waitomo Flight - Booking Ref: KC4
Flight duration - approximately 40 minutes.
This flight does it all! You will see the area in which The Hobbit was filmed and then fly on to view the Mangaotaki Gorge with the magnificent limestone cliffs and surrounding beautiful rolling farmland and native forest. From there we fly up the Marokopa River to the spectacular 35m Marokopa Falls. These falls are often described as the most beautiful in the country. Here the Marokopa River cascades over the undercut greywacke basement rock. Finally, we fly over beautiful dense untouched indigenous forest to the town of Waitomo where the famous Waitomo Caves are situated.
