PRECISION HELICOPTERS AND DETONATE FESTIVAL - NYE TARANAKI

Detonate Festival '09 is a one day, one night New Years Eve event, featuring top Kiwi bands and acts, entertainment and hospitality, with an emphasis on pyrotechnics, explosive effects, and good, safe times.

Located in Urenui, north Taranaki, Detonate features a qualified and trained pyrotechnician/stuntman, who will be 'detonating' bombs and explosive effects all day long, there will be entertainment for guests such as mud slides, gyro rides and stunts as well as the main attraction, top Kiwi bands and music playing throughout the day and night.

And as a huge bonus, Detonate is proud to have Precision Helicopters, with legendary pilot Matt Newton, on board for the day, offering rides to our guests above and around the festival area.

Confirmed to the Detonate line-up are Luger Boa, Deja Voodoo, November Zulu, These Four Walls, Clap Clap Riot, Quarter2, Elston Gun, Sonic Altar, Diesel Phoenix and The Defendants. These bands will all be performing during the day on our main stage, sponsored by The Rock. Separately to the main stage, we will be running a DJ/dance area throughout the day, sponsored by The Most and .LTD to provide variety for our guests.

Listen out for the Detonate Festival ads, on local and national radio stations The Most and The Rock, and check us out on all the major event websites and Facebook. With an expected 3000 people in attendance, you can expect to see the New Plymouth Mayor, Peter Tennent supporting the event by opening the festival and pushing the button on the first effect.

Detonate is definitely something a little different, there isn’t currently another New Year’s Eve rock festival in the North Island. We are proud to be putting Taranaki and Urenui on the map.
