Precision Helicopters Ltd provide helicopter services for the horticultural, agricultural and viticultural industry sectors. To ensure no adverse spray residues are dispersed onto a crop, we have two sets of spray gear for each aircraft involved with viticulture and horticulture. PHL are licensed fine particle applicators. We have mobile hammer mills that convert granulated fertiliser to liquid. The granules are mixed and bagged at a fertiliser company of choice and then dispatched to the loading site where it is processed and applied. This process increases the surface area of the elements and ensures that all elements are evenly mixed.

AGRICULTURAL SERVICES

PHL provide helicopter services for the horticultural, agricultural and viticultural industry sectors.

Stainless steel spray equipment with high volume nozzles suitable for the application of suspension fertilizer.

Frost Protection

Most of our helicopters are deployed to various vineyards during periods of frosty weather.

Helicopter flying slowly over vineyard

We can help save vineyards from economic disaster during frost conditions by flying slowly over the crop. During cold and still conditions, the down draught from the helicopter causes the slightly warmer air layered above to circulate amongst the vines, reducing the likelyhood of frost damage. Helicopters are effective for frost protection for up to 50 acres at a time.

Because of the demand for helicopters, it is advisable to call in advance to ensure availability.

Fine Partical Application
PHL are licensed fine particle applicators. We have mobile hammer mills that convert granulated fertiliser to liquid. The granules are mixed and bagged at a fertiliser company of choice and then dispatched to the loading site where it is processed and applied. This process increases the surface area of the elements and ensures that all elements are evenly mixed.

Fine particle application offers even distribution of up to 16 elements in every droplet. The process increases the surface area of the nutrient by 300 to 400 times. This increase in surface area allows to the plant to absorb the nutrients more efficiently. FPA is a compound fertiliser meaning that every element in the mixture is contained in every droplet.

A plan for a safe landing zone design for spraying operations is available - Landing Zone Design (120KB, PDF).

Weed Spraying
High speed circulation ensures all chemicals and fertilisers are mixed thoroughly in the tank.

Weed & Feed

Kill two birds with one stone by applying weed control and fertiliser together. Further more, by using a special process, the extra dry matter produced will actually cover the cost of application!  Click here for further information.

Top Dressing
For granular fertiliser application we use a bucket on the end of our crane-truck.  This allows us to load our top dressing bucket in under 10 seconds.

GPS
All PHL aircraft are fitted with Trimble agricultural GPS systems to ensure accurate product placement.

Lifting Work
PHL can lift anything from a sick cow to human loads.
