AERIAL WORK

Precision Helicopters is well equipped to cater for most types of aerial work. We have a range of helicopters and equipment to perform many tasks:

GPS capabilities:

Each helicopter is fitted with a Garmin 296 GPS device. This allows us to fly accurately to one or more specific coordinates, irrespective of the terrain or weather conditions. Customers can provide GPS data in a variety of formats (even from Google Earth). We are also able to provide post flight data for reference or analytical purposes.

Photography and Filming:
PHL has been involved in the production of several advertisements, TV productions and one movie.

We have mounts suitable for both film and video cameras.

PHL played an active role in the production of a stunning advertisment for Meridian Energy. Not only did we provide the helicopters for filming but the surfers, mountain bikers, the hay truck, the location and of course the talent!

Precision Lifting:
PHL have performed many contracts where the lifting of loads into exact positions has been the primary requirement. All our aircraft are fitted with highly accurate GPS devices enabling us to arrive at specific locations, irrespective of the terrain and weather conditions.

Conservation Work:
PHL carry out approx 200 hours per year for the Department of Conservation.  We are involved in both the delivery and construction of structures on DoC land.  

Pipeline and Powerline Survey:
Taranaki is a mass of energy related industries. PHL assist in the survey and maintenance of both powerlines and gas pipelines within this region.

Heli-drilling:
Precision Helicopters Limited have had three years experience in this industry and can offer a competitive turnkey package.  PHL have an efficient low impact system for carrying out drilling operations in the majority of terrains.

PHL aircraft are fitted with GPS for accurate rig placement and drillers are fitted with crewman belts for fast and safe deployment.

PHL have carried out Helidrilling work in both NZ and Papua New Guinea

Drilling trials being carried out in Eastern Taranaki Papa Country. 

Landing a rig at Mokau is done with ease as staff are trained in working with helicopters prior to commencing any operation.

Seismic Survey
PHL have modern and efficient equipment for survey and deployment work.  We have a nine hook carousel, five hook carousel,  crewman belts and grapples.  All of these are checked annually and certified.

An example of  a five hook carousel – we can deliver in minutes 5 bags of equipment per lift, with up to 150kg per bag.

The pilot can select the hook he would like to release from the helicopter.  PHL manufacture PVC carry bags to protect your valuable equipment.

Grapple – we can retrieve equipment from the field without the need of any staff on the ground to hook up.

PHL train our pilots to hook up loads with ease.

Up to six bags can be hooked up in a matter of minutes.
